How to Sell to Burbank Sportscards

Before you get here

Check the schedule and what we buy

A few things we’re not buying right now

This applies to every sport and trading card game.

  • Complete sets — for example, a 2020 Topps Baseball complete set.
  • Commons — standard base cards that make up most of a set.
  • Unsorted bulk — mixed collections of commons or base cards.

Exceptions:

  • Vintage commons pre-1965
  • Hall of Fame base cards on our buy list
  • Bulk serial-numbered cards, autographs and jersey cards.

Bringing a larger collection? Please contact us before bringing it in so we can schedule an appointment.

Once you’re here

How selling works

  1. GET READY

    Organize your cards

Have your cards neatly organized and ready for a buyer to review. For example, keep graded cards separate from raw (ungraded) cards.

  2. JOIN THE QUEUE

    Sign up at the iPad

Find the iPad underneath the "buying" sign and add your name and mobile number.

  3. ENJOY THE STORE

    Browse while you wait

Feel free to browse the store and keep an eye on the list on the TV. You'll receive a text when you’re almost up.

  4. MEET YOUR BUYER

    Review your offer

We’ll look over your cards and make an offer. You’ll be able to ask questions and decide what works best for you!

How we determine offers

What goes into an offer?

  • Recent comparable sales for the specific card
  • Condition for raw cards, grade for graded cards
  • Demand and our current inventory
  • Recent market trends.
What percentage of market value do you pay?

There isn’t one percentage that applies to every card. The market value we use and the offer we can make depend on different factors.

Our job is to keep the store full of cards, so we'll make the strongest offer we can for the right cards.

If you have a different value in mind, ask your buyer which sales and card details informed the offer.

Why might you pass on my cards?

We may pass because of condition, demand, or current inventory stock levels.

Please ask your buyer to explain the reason if it isn’t clear.

What if I disagree with the offer?

Ask your buyer how they arrived at the offer. If you have a recent comparable sale, show it to them. There’s no obligation to sell.

Before you visit

What is considered a common?

A common trading card is a standard, non-rare card that forms the main or base set of a collection. Sometimes also referred to as a base card or bulk.

How should I organize my cards?

Bring the items you want to sell in a neat, easy-to-review arrangement. They don't need to be in number order or by player, but if a collection is too difficult to review as presented, we may ask you to organize it and return for an appointment.

Do I need an appointment?

Walk-ins can join the in-store waitlist during buying hours. For a larger collection where you have 50 cards or more that need to be individually priced contact us before bringing it in so we can schedule an appointment.

We’ll review whether it fits our buying needs before arranging an appointment. Appointments can take from 15 minutes to several hours, depending on the collection.

Can I leave the store while I wait?

Yes. You can browse or step out while you wait. Keep your phone with you, watch for your text, and allow time to return when notified.

If you miss the notification or have trouble with your place in the queue, ask our team to check your signup.

When is in-store buying closed?

We do not buy in store on Sundays or Mondays, during the week of the National Sports Cards Convention or the West Coast Card Show, or on most federal holidays.

Store shopping hours and buying hours are different. If you’re planning a special trip around a holiday or convention, contact us to confirm buying availability.

Can I mail in a collection?

Yes, if we agree on a price beforehand. Contact us first to discuss your collection and arrange the next steps before shipping.

Do you travel to buy collections?

We do not normally travel to buy collections. Exceptional circumstances may be considered; contact us to discuss your collection.

Do you have a buy list?

We currently have a buylist for bulk quantities of serial numbered, rookie, autograph, and jersey cards. Please reference it HERE.

After you accept

Payment &
store credit.

Can I choose store credit?

Yes. Store credit is 10% more than our cash offer and can be used on anything in the store.

For example, a $100 cash offer becomes $110 in store credit.

What payment methods are available?

For deals under $1,000, payment options include cash, check, Zelle, and PayPal. For larger deals, we will usually write you a check.
